Hello, one and all! This blog is a recent idea of mine – firstly, I’m doing it behind the cover of anonymity because I’m not seeking the mass attention it could bring about, and I’m unsure of the results.
The facts I’ll volunteer; I’m a British man, 21 years old (at the time of writing), a practising Catholic and consider myself to be someone of geeky/nerdy persuasions. I am also rather introverted (particularly when faced with larger groups of people).
It would also seem I’m one of those folks who feels an unnatural urge to share life with one person – laugh all you want at the idea of a soul-mate, but that’s what I’m referring to – the idea that you can connect with a person so wholly, so entirely that everything you do (together) doubles in worth. I’m obviously aware that long-term relationships are increasingly rare, and the numbers aren’t in favour of the soul-mate theory. However, for me, that doesn’t mean just assume it doesn’t exist.
I’m constantly told “you’ve got plenty of time” etc. but is that true? I know I’m young, but with each passing day, or big event, it’s something you’ve not done with that possible significant other. This is at its worst when you have friends or family who are well settled with partners, telling you not to worry.
Anyways, in this blog, I will aim to fill out my quest for finding a decent partner, starting with some snippets of history and then hopefully documenting all the little moments along the way. If for whatever reason, you wish to comment, chat about something I’ve said, or get in touch about anything, please do email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will set up a conversation with the real-world me!
Thanks for reading, please do comment!
